本展「とんねる」で展開するのは、初めての試みとなる黒と白を基調とした世界です。

深い黒の画面に浮かび上がる繊細な白い線、その間にきらめく光や星屑のようなラメ。色彩を削ぎ落とすことで、いつもの花々の新たな表情が立ち現れます。

​私にとって「とんねる」とは、単なる暗闇ではなく、こちら側とまだ見ぬ向こう側をつなぐ場所。そこを抜けた先には、どのような景色が待っているのでしょうか。

​いつもの色彩から少し離れ、白と黒と光が織りなす新しい世界へ。

In her exhibition Tunnel, Fumie Hayashi presents a world centered on black and white—a new direction for her artistic practice.

Delicate white lines emerge from deep black surfaces, while shimmering light and glitter, like scattered stardust, sparkle between them. By stripping away color, Hayashi reveals new expressions of the flowers she has long depicted.

For Hayashi, a “tunnel” is not simply a place of darkness, but a space that connects this side with an unseen world beyond. What kind of landscape awaits us on the other side?

Stepping away from her familiar world of color, Hayashi invites us into a new realm woven from black, white, and light.

人が夢を見るとき、あるいは夢に向かって進み続けるとき、時間は効率や成果から切り離され、濃度や体感として存在しはじめます。進んでいるのか、止まっているのかわからない。意味があるのかどうかも、すぐには判断できない。それでも確かに費やされていく時間があります。

When we dream, or persist in moving toward our dreams, time is released from the measures of efficiency and accomplishment. It begins to exist as a matter of intensity and perception.

We may not know whether we are progressing or standing still, nor can we immediately determine whether our actions hold meaning. And yet, there remains a kind of time that is undeniably lived and accumulated.
